INTRODUCTION TO HAIRDRESSING
At the Academy, we believe very much in foundation building. It is an eight months program whereby we start with the very basic foundation and work right up till you are capable of handling a haircut, colour, perm and etc on your own.

• BASIC LEVEL
This will be a two months "self discovery" level. A concise, yet detailed information in our workbook helps the participants to take "ownership" of the information thru discussions and explanatory examples from the Educators.

Hands on session with mannequins will be done in the evening after each subject to affirm what the participants have learnt on that day. A very interactive session amongst participants at this point and definitely filled with loads of fun!


• INTERMEDIATE ONE
Now that you’ve understood the foundations, it’s time to move on to "walk the talk".
For the next three months, you will be working with new methods that will be introduced to your foundation knowledge. In the afternoon, life models will be introduced to you and with the assistance from your Educator, you will start your first steps in hairdressing!


• INTERMEDIATE TWO
This is really where the fun begins! You would, by now, have acquired a deep knowledge of hairdressing and your Educator will start to work with your confidence. Your Educator will encourage you to make decisions on how you want to create the look you want and will merely guide you as we’re confident that you already have what it takes to make the hairstyle look great. At the end of the course, you will be having models booked in the whole day.

INTRODUCTION TO MAKE UP
At A Cut Above Academy, we understand the importance of making our clients look beautiful. Hence, we introduce make up with a touch of passion from no other than the guru himself, Mr James Wong. With the teachings of Mr James Wong, a make-up guru, you will definitely be captivated by his passion for make-up. Besides from having to learn from the guru, students will have tremendous of opportunity to get their hands on make-up with celebrities and models. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity where students can expose themselves to the possibilities of becoming a make-up artist.

Introducing Celia Tham
The youngest of all senior educators. Miss Celia Tham is the First Winner of the renowned Redken Idol Competition in 2005 and is proud to be the first Malaysian to pass the City and Guilds Advanced Diploma. With her creative works and ideas, Ms Celia Tham is one of the most admirable educators in the Academy.
