WELCOME TO A CUT ABOVE ACADEMY, “THE MOST HAPPENING ACADEMY” !

Located in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre, A CUT ABOVE ACADEMY was established in the year 2004. As young as it is, it currently holds a student population of more than a hundred students, led by a strong team of experienced hairdressing Educators. Popularly known as the "The Most Happening Academy" in Malaysia, the students of the Academy are not only inspired by the best and most professional hairdressing skills of the Educators; but also have direct access and hands on experience with the state of the art facilities of the Academy.

A CUT ABOVE ACADEMY is the pathway to hone and groom young talents with professional skills to create, demonstrate and present in various forms of event, from salon work to hair shows, all of which are based on their strong and fastened knowledge of principles and ideas learned at the academy.

Hairdressing is now a worldwide recognised profession.

In 2006, A CUT ABOVE ACADEMY has been awarded the I.V.Q (International Vocational Qualification) recognition by world renowned education body, City & Guilds of London. This is in recognition of the Academy’s high quality of education and also outstanding results from the students who took the City & Guilds Diploma Level in Hairdressing.

A CUT ABOVE ACADEMY is proud to be the First and Only Hairdressing Academy in Malaysia and Southeast Asia and the only to be the 3rd Country in the whole of Asia to be given such a prestigious recognition.

Besides being strong in our Academic results, the Academy’s success is mainly based on "FUN THROUGH EDUCATION". Students are encouraged to be part of the academy’s activities as well as to participate in the Academy’s events. Like the founder herself, Miss Winnie Loo, the students are continuously trained and nurtured to have a compassionate heart to help those less fortunate than their own. The popular "Cut-A-Thon" event is now a yearly fundraising program organized by the Academy whereby a charity haircut drive would be held to raise funds for the local community. This event has even set some new standards in the Malaysia Book of Records, and this is definitely something that the students of A Cut Above Academy will be proud of.
